Mark N. Roehler, age 56 of Belle Fourche, died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at his home.
A celebration of his life will be held 10am Wednesday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. There will be no visitation.
Mark Nicholas Roehler was born December 5, 1961 in Estherville, Iowa. He was the son of Merton and Shirley (Turck) Roehler. Mark grew up in Estherville, where he attended school as well. After graduating from high school, Mark attended the Spirit Lake Community College in Spirit Lake, Iowa where he received a degree in welding. Following, he enlisted in the U.S. Army and upon a tragic accident where Mark lost his leg, he was discharged. On October 13, 1989, Mark was united in marriage to Nancy Miller in Rapid City. Following their marriage they lived in Rapid City, and then moved to Sioux Falls in 1997 where Mark worked as a technician for Heartland Paper Company. In 2006 the moved to Belle Fourche, where they have lived since.
Mark will be remembered for his funny sense of humor and his great love for his family. He was also stubborn and forgiving, and he made the greatest chili in the world. He will be missed greatly.
Mark is survived by his wife, Nancy of Belle Fourche; daughters, Samantha of Spearfish and Sarah of Belle Fourche, Christian (Arian) Roach of Sioux Falls; son, Casey (Jennifer) of Lawton OK; 7 grandchildren; sisters, Sheryl (Larry) Hicks of Deadwood, Sheila (Steve) Drees of Wall; brothers, Mert “Sonny” (Sherry) of Estherville Iowa, Michael (Penny) of New Iberia LA, and Merlin (Christina) of Wall.
Mark was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Sharon Howell.
