James Ellsworth Jensen was born on December 23, 1932 in Shelton, Nebraska to John and Vena (Pickering) Jensen. Jim moved to Wyoming as a boy and loved everything that being from Wyoming had to offer. Jim married Pearl Montaney on June 24, 1951 in Kulm, North Dakota. Jim told Pearl when they first wed that they’d never raise children or chickens. They never had any chickens, but over the years, six children were born to Jim and Pearl. Jim lived a full life that included ranching, trucking, logging, upholstery work, leather work, woodwork and furniture building. In recent years, he ran Aladdin Construction with his oldest son. He was also an avid reader; early American historical books especially interested him and he enjoyed western novels. Above all that, Jim was a proud husband, father and grandfather who loved his family dearly. He often told friends that he loved all of his kids, even when there were moments he shouldn’t have.
Blessed to have spent a lifetime with him are his wife of 68 years, Pearl; his children Monty (Jill) of Beulah WY, Warren of Newcastle, Gene (Betty)of Gillette WY, Jim (fiance’, Mary Locati, of Spearfish) of Belle Fourche, Scott (Jana) of Gillette WY, and Marilyn (Doug) Rainforth of Fairmont MN; and many, many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Dustin and Ryan Jensen, Nate Rainforth; sisters Laura and Elva; and daughter-in-law, Kate.
