Irene Helen Royseth was born February 13, 1937 in Mott, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Olaf and Shirley (Moe) Royseth. Irene grew up in the Mott area, where she attended school. She was united in marriage to Keith “Pete” Spracklin on August 30, 1968 in Glendive Montana. Together they raised two children: Cindy and Tim. Pete worked as an electrician and as a construction supervisor, and this took the family to Glendive and Baker Montana, as well as Denver City Texas from 1989 to 2007. Irene and Pete moved to Belle Fourche in 2007 and have lived there since.
Irene was a hard-working woman. Before getting married she drove Pilot Cars. In Glendive, she worked at Woolworth’s and the Ponderosa men’s clothing store. She enjoyed rummage sales, lawn work and gardening in her younger years, and playing card and board games. She loved her family and many laughs were had at the expense of the grandkids, because Irene loved playing practical jokes on them. She was devoted to her grandchildren and she will be greatly missed by all her family.
Irene is survived by her husband, Keith “Pete” Spracklin of Belle Fourche; son, Tim (Caryn) of Tea SD; daughter, Cindy (David) Brueni of Oro Valley AZ; grandchildren, Jared Brueni, Lance and Katelyn Spracklin; and extended family, Larry (Barb) Moe of Spearfish, and Ray Anderson of Buffalo. She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; granddaughter, Tessa Brueni; and cousin, Eileen Anderson.
