Howard Wright

Howard R. Wright, age 88 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday, March 17, 2022 at the Rolling Hills Healthcare Center in Belle Fourche.

Services will be held 10:30 am Friday, August 19th, 2022 at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. 

Funeral arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.

Howard Ray Wright was born February 19, 1934 in Stoneville, South Dakota.  He was the son of Harry and Norma (Friend) Wright.  Howard grew up in the Stoneville area.  He was united in marriage to Lola Marie Whities on January 26, 1952 in Rapid City.  To this union two sons were born: Milton and Gary.  Following their marriage Howard and Lola lived in

Crook County, near Devils Tower.  In 1959 they moved to Rapid City where they lived for 20 years.  During these years, Howard worked in construction and transported mobile homes.  Together they also worked as caretakers of the Ponderosa Trailer Park in Rapid City from 1973 to 1979.  In 1979 they moved to Belle Fourche.  For many years, Howard worked as a trucker.  Lola was his dispatcher.  Lola died in 2012.  Since then, Howard has lived in Belle Fourche at home.

Howard is survived by his sons, Milton (Rhonda) of Rapid City, Gary of Belle Fourche; 5 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his wife; brothers, Ralph and Merton; half-brothers, Earl Wright, Clarence Craig, Orian Craig; and half-sister, Ethel.
