Emmet Hegwood

 Emmet Lawrence Hegwood was born July 26, 1943 in Oakes, North Dakota.  He was the son of Emmet Sr. and Rose Mary (Pfiefer) Hegwood.  Emmet served in the U.S. Air Force.  For many years, Emmet worked for Bobcat Melroe Inc. He worked in many areas of the company, including Assembly and Quality Control.   Emmet was united in marriage to Sandra Zeeb and for the past several years they have lived in Belle Fourche.  

Emmet died at the age of 80, on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Monument Heath in Rapid City.  He is survived by his wife Sandra of Belle Fourche; daughters, Ladonna (Bruce) Loehrke of New Salem ND, Susan (Troy) Schumacher of Oakes ND, Nanette Hegwood of Bismarck ND; 6 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; brother, Leonard (Freda) Hegwood of Riverton WY; and sister, Susan (David) Nygren of Jamestown ND.  He was preceded in death by his son, Emmet “Tuffer” Hegwood III. 

Services will be held at a later date in McKenzie North Dakota, at Pleasant View Cemetery.  Arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.  Friends may leave condolences online at: www.LeveringtonFH.com
