Bernice Scott

Bernice Fern (Barnett) Scott, at the age of 87, passed away September 21, 2019 at the Rolling Hills Healthcare in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.

She was born August 19, 1932 at Ridge, Montana, the daughter of Irvin Edison Barnett and Jessie Fern (Beltz) Barnett.  She grew up under the big skies and wide-open prairies of southeast Montana, then moved on to marriage, children, travel and lots of adventures.

Survivors include daughter, Susan (Lyn) Smeenk of Belle Fourche SD, Deb (Charlie) Winstead of Boonville IN, Nena (Mark) MacGregor of Boonville IN, and son Shawn (Debbie) Griffin of Evansville IN; sisters Marlene Schoepp  of OR, Judi (Dick) Kienbaum of Elkhart Lake WI, brothers David (Jonah) Barnett of Philippines, Sam (Jane) Barnett of Howards Grove WI; sister-in-law, Joan Barnett of Billings MT; and a heart full of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Virgil (Margaret) Therman, Steve (Kay), Phil and Timothy; husbands, Gene Griffin and Edward Scott; daughter-in-law, Nancy Griffin.

No services will be held.  Bernice will be laid to rest with her parents in Kiel, WI at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.
