Arthur "Arty" Bach

Arthur “Arty” Bach, age 62 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday, January 3, 2019 at his home with his loving family by his side.

Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30 am Tuesday, January 8, 2019 at the St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fourche. 

Visitation will take place 4 to 6:30 pm Monday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, following, at 7pm a Vigil Service will take place at the church. 

Interment will be held in Pine Slope Cemetery.

Memorials are preferred to St. Paul Catholic Church or the American Cancer Society.

Arthur Bach was born January 17, 1956 in Belle Fourche.  He was the son of Arthur and Ida (Thomas) Bach.  Arty grew up in Belle Fourche, where he graduated from high school in 1974.  He attended Western Dakota Tech in Sturgis, graduating in 1976.  On May 26, 1979, Arty was united in marriage to Carol Dell at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Newell.  Following their marriage they lived in Belle Fourche, where Arty worked for Rainbow Chevrolet.  Since 1980, he has worked at American Colloid.  He retired this past December due to health issues. 

Arty enjoyed the outdoors, camping especially.  In his younger years, he was a member of the high school chess club, and competed in high school track and field, racing in the 100 and the 220.  He enjoyed ice skating and roller skating as well.  Arty was a good man, a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, and he will be greatly missed.

Arty is survived by his wife, Carol; sons, Jonathan of Belle Fourche, Josh (DeRae) of Belle Fourche, Justin (Ivy) of Dickinson ND; daughter, Jerrica (Jason) Jahner of Gillette WY; 15 grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Bernice (Les) Njos of Baker MT, Carol Geray of Mahnomen MN.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
