Jack Brooker Sr.

Jack Brooker Sr. age 89 of Belle Fourche, died Monday November 29, 2010 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital. The funeral service will be held 1pm Friday December 3rd, 2010 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be held Friday from 11am to 1pm. Interment will be held in Pine Slope Cemetery. Military Honors will be provided by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard. Jack Brooker was born September 22, 1921 in Belle Fourche. He was the son of Henry and Eva (Golding) Brooker. Jack grew up and attended school in Belle Fourche, and was a graduate of the Belle Fourche High School. He also attended Kemper Military College in Missouri. On July 4th, 1942 he was united in marriage to Monda Wheeler in Miles City, Montana. To this union three sons were born: Jack, Doug, and Randy. During World War II, Jack served his country in the U.S. Army Air Force. Jack was a Bombardier on B-24’s in the Pacific Theatre. Jack worked at Hub Clothiers and Sly Grocery in Belle Fourche for several years. He later purchased C Bar J Clothing in Belle Fourche, which he owned and operated for many years. Jack was an active member of the Belle Fourche community. He enjoyed golfing and was very interested in aviation. He enjoyed watching tennis and golf on television, but mostly he loved spending time with his family. Jack is survived by his wife, Monda of Belle Fourche; sons, Jack Jr. (Val Evyn) of Belle Fourche, Doug (Michelle) of Oklahoma; and grandson, Benjamin Brooker of Missoula, MT. He was preceded in death by his parents; and son, Randy Brooker.
