Lidwina “Lidy” Dvorak age 74 of Belle Fourche, died Wednesday October 6, 2010 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. The funeral service will be held 10am Saturday October 9th, 2010 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be held 5 to 7pm Friday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills. Inurnment will be held 10am Monday at Black Hills National Cemetery, near Sturgis. Lidwina Mary Steier was born April 24, 1936 in Stark County, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Alex and Mary Eva (Frank) Steier. At the age of 3, Lidy moved with her family to the Reeder North Dakota area, where she grew up on a family farm near the Cedar Dam. On June 18, 1958 she was united in marriage to Raymond Dvorak in Reeder, ND. To this union four children were born: Greg, Layne, Norene, and Ramona. Following their marriage they lived in Sturgis, Lead/Deadwood, and in 1969 they settled in Belle Fourche. Lidy worked for several years as a cook at the Port Café in Belle Fourche, and also at the Don Pratt Manor. For many years she worked as a nurse’s aid at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center. She retired in 1998. Lidy loved cooking, reading, doing crossword puzzles, watching John Wayne movies, and she had many good times hunting with her husband in the Slim Buttes. She was loved by her husband and family and she will be greatly missed. Lidwina is survived by her husband of 52 years, Raymond of Belle Fourche; sons, Greg of Belle Fourche, Layne (Lisa) of Gillette WY; daughters, Norene Dvorak of Gillette WY, Ramona Dvorak of Belle Fourche; brother, Herman (Danelda) Steier of Deadwood; and 4 granddaughters, Brittani, Nicole, Haley, and Kelsey.
