Norman Paul Laisy was born March 30, 1940 in Chester, South Dakota. He was the son of Otto and Grace (Wagnitz) Laisy. Norman grew up and attended school in Madison South Dakota. After he graduated from high school, Norman moved to Rapid City and the Black Hills where he worked at several different jobs, including jobs as a pipe liner, driving truck, building pole barns and managing ranches. For the past several years he has lived north of Newell. During these years Norman met and made many friends. Norman loved the ranch life and the outdoors and he especially enjoyed his horses. He enjoyed breaking and training horses, buying and selling them too. He enjoyed attending auction sales, the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas, and playing some cards in Deadwood. The friends he met over the years are too many to list. Norman had the honor to be considered a member of the Napoli family. He will be greatly missed by his many friends. Norman died at the age of 70 on Sunday August 8th, 2010 at his home near Newell. A celebration of his life will be held 10am to 12 noon on Friday September 10th, 2010 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Norman is survived by his sisters, Maxine Biteler of Arvada CO, Carmen (James) Metzer of Mountain Home ID; brothers, Lyman (Marilyn) Laisy of Madison SD, Melvin (Julie) Laisy of Waukon MN, Dennis Laisy of Pasadena TX, James (Loretta) Laisy of Elizabeth KY; and nieces and nephews.
