Edwin Junior McKnight

Edwin J. McKnight age 78 of Belle Fourche, died Wednesday June 2, 2010 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center in Belle Fourche. The memorial service will be held 12 noon Wednesday June 9th, 2010 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, with Rev. Randall McKnight officiating. Visitation will be held 5 to 7pm Tuesday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Inurnment will be in Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fourche. Memorials are preferred to the Belle Fourche Ambulance. Edwin Junior McKnight was born June 12, 1931 in Albion, Montana. He was the son of Roy A. and Grace D. (Dye) McKnight. Edwin attended school in Albion and also the Canyonville Bible Academy in Canyonville, Oregon. On November 19, 1949 he was united in marriage to Elsie M. Collins in Roseburg, Oregon. To this union 5 daughters and 1 son were born. Edwin and Elsie farmed and ranched near Albion Montana for many years. Edwin custom farmed and sheared sheep for many farmers and ranchers in the area, and he enjoyed sharing his sheep shearing talent at demonstration in schools and county fairs. He loved animals and he was a hard worker. Edwin will be remembered for being a good spiritual leader to his family. He was a good father and husband and loved his family very much. Edwin is survived by his wife, Elsie of Belle Fourche; daughters, Twila (Bob) Suwyn of Belle Fourche, Janet (Pat) Barden of Belle Fourche, Bonnie (John) Elvestrom of Billings MT, Loretta Stuart of Wright WY, Jamie (Tim) Goeringer of Prescott Valley AZ; son, Randall (Jeanine) McKnight of Austin TX; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers, Arthur (Grace) McKnight of Hastings MI, Royal (Irene) McKnight of Rapid City; and sisters, Ione (Thomas) Johnston of Billings MT, and Betty Kronholm of Minnesota. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents; sons-in-law, Carl John Heinert, Edward James Stuart II; granddaughter, Julie Rae Goeringer; and great granddaughter, Shayna Ryan Elvestrom.
