Zophar "Zo" Berg

Zophar “Zo” Berg age 71 of Newell, died Friday March 26, 2010 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center in Belle Fourche. A memorial service will be held 2pm Monday April 5th, 2010 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche with Jack Wilson officiating. There will be no visitation. Zophar “Zo” Ole Berg was born April 1, 1938 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was the son of Alfred and Margaret (Ward) Berg. Zo spent most of his life in and around Newell, SD, where he worked at various jobs, including crop spraying and working with dynamite. Zo’s motto was: “You Hire, We Fire”. He also owned his own airplane, and his friends have fond memories of the rides he shared. Zo is survived by three special friends, Bob and Lotus Gillespie and Ed Johnson, all of Belle Fourche. Those who knew Zo will miss him, those who did not, don’t know what they missed.
