Loretta J (Davis) Fuller passed away March 20th, 2010 at the Lund Hospice Home in Gilbert, AZ. Loretta suffered a massive stroke on February 9, 2010 in Casa Grande, AZ. She was born December 3, 1934 at Belle Fourche, SD to Floyd C “Bud” and Georgia V (Jones) Davis. Loretta grew up on the family ranch near Camp Crook, SD. She attended grade school at the rural school of Dryfield through the 8th grade. She attended high school in Nisland, SD and transferred to Belle Fourche High School where she graduated in 1952. She attended college at Black Hills College in Spearfish. On October 27, 1953, Loretta married Jerry Fuller at the St James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche. To this union 4 children were born, Gary, Greg, Gene and Joan. Jerry and Loretta lived and raised their family in Belle Fourche. For the past 8 years, Jerry and Loretta spent their winters in Casa Grande, AZ. They made some wonderful friends at “Camp” and looked forward to their months of being “Snowbirds”. Jerry and Loretta loved to play dominoes and card games with their family and friends. Loretta worked as a secretary for many years. She worked for Century 21 in Belle Fourche where she was a realtor for more than 20 years. She enjoyed her coworkers and the many people that she met along the way. She officially retired in 2009. Loretta showed her talents later in life as an accomplished artist. Her art was amazing and she painted many pictures for family members and friends. These are definitely family treasures that will be enjoyed for many years to come. Loretta was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was proud of her children and grandchildren’s achievements and accomplishments. She was a member of the St James Lutheran church in Belle Fourche and had a very strong faith. Grateful for having shared in her life is her husband of 56 years, Jerry, Belle Fourche; three sons, Gary (Valerie), Queen Creek, AZ, Greg (Linda), Belle Fourche, SD, Gene, Belle Fourche, SD; One daughter Joan (Kurt) Manke, Belle Fourche, SD; 10 Grandchildren, Jarrod and Jason (Meredith) Fuller, Justin, Kristyn, and Jennie Fuller, Samantha and Kalee Fuller, Josh (Meg) and Brad Manke, Josh Hafner; 5 Great Grandchildren, Trey Fuller, Marek Manke, Jobie and Peyton Manke and Payten Hafner; one brother, Maurice (Gloria) Davis, Higbee, Mo; sisters-in-law, Alfreda Davis, Belle Fourche, Marjorie (Hendrickson) Whitworth, Greenfield, TN and Doris Fuller, Roseburg, OR; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, Bud and Georgia, a brother, Rex, daughter-in-law, Laurie (Wilson) Fuller and a sister in infancy. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 5th at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, SD with Pastor Jeff Otterman officiating. Burial will follow at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche, SD. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to the Lund Family Hospice Home (Hospice of the Valley), Gilbert, AZ and the St James Lutheran Church of Belle Fourche, SD.
