Bobbi Johnson age 36 of St. Onge, died suddenly from natural causes on Friday March 19, 2010 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. The funeral service will be held 11am Thursday March 25th, 2010 at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, with Rev. Jeff Otterman officiating. Visitation will be held 4 to 8 PM Wednesday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, with a public prayer service at 7pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be held in Pine Slope Cemetery, Belle Fourche. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the education fund of her son, Cash. Bobbi Jean Bacon was born May 23, 1973 in Belle Fourche, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Dan and Gloria (Niedert) Bacon. Bobbi grew up on the Bacon ranch near St. Onge and attended school in Belle Fourche. In high school, she was active in band, and many sports and rodeo. She was also active in 4-H and she loved showing her horses, cattle, and sheep. One year she was awarded “Horse Showmanship” when she had a broken leg, and her family will never forget how she hopped around with that horse. She graduated in 1991 and then she attended Western Dakota Tech in Rapid City, where she earned a degree in medical transcription. On October 20, 2000, Bobbi was married to Mitch Johnson of Belle Fourche at St. James Lutheran Church. Bobbi realized one of her dreams when the couple honeymooned in Hawaii. Mitch and Bobbi were blessed to have one son, Cash Jeffery Johnson who was born on July 8, 2003. The family made their home on a ranch near St. Onge. In 1998 Bobbi and her father opened the Broken Spur Saddle and Tack Store in Belle Fourche. Bobbi organized many barrel races and she loved to train her own horses and run barrels. She loved to trail ride, cook, going on vacations, and fishing with her family. She loved her family, her church, her horses, and her dog, Jessie. She loved hosting the family gathering around her table on Thanksgiving Day. She was a member of St. James Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother. Her greatest joy was attending Cash’s activities with Mitch. Her family was always first in her life. Bobbi is survived by her husband, Mitch and son Cash of St. Onge; parents, Dan and Gloria Bacon of St. Onge; sisters Billi (Sam) Charles of Belle Fourche, Desiree (Tom) and their daughter, Allison Tolo of Sioux Falls; brother, Trent (Kathy) DuBois and their children, Trevor, Logan, and Karli of Everett WA; father and mother in-law, Mark and Rhonda Johnson of Belle Fourche; brother-in-law, Brian Johnson of Belle Fourche; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her infant brother; maternal grandparents, Al and Rose Niedert of Fruitdale; paternal grandparents, Elton and Jean Bacon of Omaha NE; paternal great-grandparents, Everett and Peggy Bacon of Deadwood.
