*Video Tribute Can Be Viewed Below* Irene E. Koch, age 79 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday, February 15, 2018 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place 10:30am Tuesday, February 20th, 2018 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fouche. Visitation will take place 4 to 6:30pm Monday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, followed by a 7pm Vigil Service at the church. Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fouche. Irene Elizabeth Hellman was born September 8, 1938 in Taylor, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Harry and Appolonina (Duttenhefer) Hellman. Irene grew up on a family farm near Dodge, ND and later moved to Williston ND. In 1971 she was united in marriage to Wilbert Koch in Williston. For many years, Irene worked as a waitress in Williston. She worked at several café’s including the El Rancho Café’, Keenan’s Drive Inn, International Inn. She also worked at the State Line Club, where she met Willie. Together, Irene and Willie owned and operated the Four Mile Bar in Williston, for 12 years. In April of 2012, they moved to Belle Fourche. Irene enjoyed bowling, shooting darts, playing bingo and card games, and she loved polka music. Irene will be remembered for her quiet and shy personality, yet she carried a feistiness and had a “look” about her that let you know when she was serious about something. She was helpful and generous and she was loved greatly by her family and friends. Irene will be greatly missed by them all. Irene is survived by her husband, Willie Koch of Belle Fourche; son, Rory (Marti) Koch of Williston ND; daughter, Renae (Jim) Stover of Mandan ND; step-son, Todd (Laurie) Koch of Helena MT; step-daughter, Leslie Koch of Williston ND; 5 grandchildren, McKayla, Christie, Elizabeth, Tabatha, Jordan; 8 great grandchildren, Brea, Weston, Nova, Landon, Brantley, Kyra, Thea, Lucan; brother, Jerome (Caroline) Hellman of Phoenix AZ; sister, Darlene Flores of Rapid City; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Jacob Stover; sisters, Jenny Therrien and Loretta Landro; and nephew, Brad Hellman.
