David L. Pinkerton age 72 of Belle Fourche, died Sunday November 15, 2009, surrounded by his son and family at their home in Belle Fourche. A memorial service will be held in the spring of 2010. Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. David Lyle Pinkerton was born October 30, 1937 near Bozeman, Montana. He was the son of Grant Fay and Vila (Stevens) Pinkerton. David grew up on the Flying D Ranch near Gateway, Montana. He served in the National Guard 163rd Armored Cavalry and then he served in the U.S. Army. Following his military service he returned to Gateway MT, and then moved to Minnesota where he operated a dairy farm and drove a milk truck, delivering milk to several customers. For more than ten years, David worked in the gold mines located near Elko, Nevada. He also worked as a security guard for the Stockman’s and Commercial Casinos in Elko NV. He retired to Belle Fourche where he has lived for the past four years. David is survived by his sons, Jess (Joni) of Belle Fourche, Ernie (Kim) of Gateway, MT, Brian of San Francisco CA, Allen (Misty) of Bahl, ID; daughters, Linda of Battle Mountain NV, Lori of Battle Mountain NV; and brother, Luman (Sandra)Pinkerton of Sheridan WY.
