Betty Ann Schmid

** Video Tribute Can Be Viewed Below ** Betty A. Schmid, age 82 of Belle Fourche, died Friday, May 19, 2017 at the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center. A memorial service will be held 2pm Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery. Betty Ann Reinhardt was born August 5, 1934 in Vale, South Dakota. She was the daughter of John and Ann (Yada) Reinhardt. Betty grew up in Vale, where she graduated from high school. In 1952 she was united in marriage to Alfred Delatore. To this union ten children were born. Following their marriage they lived in northern California for 45 years. Alfred died in 1990. On May 30, 1992, Betty was married to David Schmid in Brookdale CA, and following their marriage they settled in Belle Fourche where they have lived since. In July of 2016, Betty moved into the Edgewood Vista Center in Spearfish, and for the past two months has been a resident at the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center. Betty enjoyed dancing, playing cards, gardening, and crafts. She loved to travel and enjoyed taking many cruises with David. She was loving, soft-hearted, and had a good sense of humor. She will be missed greatly by her family and friends. Betty is survived by her husband, David of Alabama; daughters, Debra Purcell of Belle Fourche, Juanita Andru of CA; sons, Jesse Delatore of UT, Edward Delatore of CA, Alex Delatore of CO, Aaron Delatore of Belle Fourche; brother, John Reinhardt of WY; sister, Freda (Duane) Mailloux of MT; 11 grandchildren; niece, Deloris Olson of Belle Fourche; and numerous other nephews, nieces, cousins, and 4 step-children. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred; 4 children, Steven, Adrian, and Robert Delatore, Carmen Bidgood; and 4 sisters, Lydia Lungren, Mary Herman, Kate Pauley, Dorothy Lungren; and 4 brothers, Alex, Bob, Edward, and Bill Reinhardt.
