LaDale Dohman

** VIDEO TRIBUTE CAN BE VIEWED BELOW ** LaDale Dohman, age 79 of Belle Fourche, died Friday, January 13, 2017 at Palm’s Country View Eldercare Home in Belle Fourche. The funeral service will be held 9am Monday, January 16, 2017 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. There will be no visitation. Interment will take place 10am Tuesday at Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. LaDale Grubbs was born October 20, 1940 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was the daughter of Roy and Florene (Davis) Grubbs. At a young age LaDale moved with her family to Leadville, Colorado where she graduated from high school. In 1958 she was united in marriage to Robert Dohman in Leadville, CO. To this union 2 sons were born: Jerry and Gary. Following their marriage they lived in several places, and in 1975 the family settled in Spearfish. LaDale and Robert later divorced. In 1990 LaDale moved in with her mother to help care for her. Together they moved in Belle Fourche a short time later. For 20 years, LaDale worked for Black Hills Special Services, retiring in 2002. Shortly after she retired she moved into Palm’s Country View Eldercare Home due to poor health. That became “home” to LaDale in a short time, and it is there that she developed a very strong friendship with Dianna Palm. They quickly became “sisters”. LaDale was a loving person. She loved her sons and her grandchildren especially. But she was also very compassionate toward other people. Her signature traits were her penmanship and her hair. She was a beautiful lady, inside and out. LaDale is survived by her sons, Jerry (Vicki Rice) of Denton, Texas; and Gary (Cami) of Spearfish; 3 grandchildren, Maxwell, Sawyer, and Zade Dohman.
