Barbara Knapp

May 21, 1949 — November 13, 2016

Barbara Knapp, age 67 of Belle Fourche, and formerly Hermosa, died Sunday, November 13, 2016 at the Belle Fourche Healthcare Center. A celebration of her life will take place 1pm Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche, with Pastor Clay Conry officiating. There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Barbara Bertha Ehret was born May 21, 1949 in Baker, Montana. She was the daughter of William and Bertha (Hoffman) Ehret. Barb graduated from Plevna High School. On April 24, 1976, she was united in marriage to William Conrad Knapp. Following their marriage, Barb and William farmed near Baker Montana for 28 years. After selling their farmstead they moved to Hermosa SD for one year on Dry Creek Road. For six years, they lived on Bender Ridge Rd with their daughter and family. In July of 2006, William passed away and following his death Barb and her mother continued living at that location in Hermosa. Barb enjoyed crafts. Her favorites were mosaics, hook latch rugs, and Quilt Magic. She loved being a grandma and doting on her grandchildren. She loved to listen to music and her favorite television talk show was Steve Harvey as well as House, Chicago Fire, and The Biggest Loser. She was a wonderful cook, always having a huge breakfast, dinner, and leftovers for the family at suppertime. She baked bars (thinking cookies were a waste of time), and made homemade sausage. Barb kept everything going at home and was amazing at helping take care of the grandkids, taking them from place to place. Barbara is survived by her daughters, Patricia Knapp of Texas, Connie (Josh) Norman of Vacaville, CA; son, William John Knapp; mother, Bertha Ehret of Plevna MT; 7 grandchildren, Melanie, Odessa, Alexis, Bailey, Tyline, Allan, William, Natashia, Anthony, and Denzel; great grandchildren, Cullen, Allen, Navarro, and Savannah; brothers, Kent (Pat) and Flloyd (Janice) Ehret of Baker, MT; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father; husband; and step-daughter, Sheila Knapp.
