She was the daughter of Sam and Amy (Olson) Banning. Arlene grew up in Hettinger, where she graduated from high school in 1955. On December 28, 1957 she was united in marriage to Wilbert Fink in Hettinger. To this union a son and a daughter were born: Scott and Dawn. Following their marriage, Arlene and Wilbert farmed and ranched for several years. In 1985 they moved to Belle Fourche where they have lived since. Arlene worked at the Farmers Union Store in Reder and she did custodial work at the Belle Fourche Hospital. Wilbert died in 2011 and since that time Arlene has continued living in her home in Belle Fourche. Arlene enjoyed playing games, especially when it came to cards. She loved her time spent with her friends for afternoon coffee at Lynn’s Dakotamart. To know her was to enjoy her silly sense of humor and the sound of her laugh. She enjoyed life and had fun living it. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother, and she will be greatly missed. Arlene is survived by her daughter, Dawn (Matthew) Queen of Nisland; son, Scott Fink of Rapid City; grandsons, Jacob and Samuel; sister, Jeanette Hassebrock of Papillon Nebraska; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbert; and an infant brother.
