**  VIDEO TRIBUTE CAN BE VIEWED BY CLICKING WEBLINK BELOW  **Donna Mae Ward, age 76 of Belle Fourche, died Sunday, June 5, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving husband and family. The funeral service will be held 10am Friday, June 10th, 2016 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Pastor Andy Anderson will officiate the service. Visitation will be held 5 to 7pm Thursday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills, with interment taking place in Pine Slope Cemetery. Donna Mae Bednar was born May 29, 1940 in Minnesota Valley, Minnesota. She was the daughter of George and Magdalene (Yahntzi) Bednar. At a young age, Donna moved with her family and lived in Clear Lake, Canby, Midland, and when she was 14 the family settled in the Newell area. Donna attended school in Newell and at the age of 16 she met the love of her life, Darrell Ward. On July 26, 1959 they were married in Newell. Following their marriage Darrell worked in construction which caused them to move around from workplace to workplace. In 1959 they settled in Rapid City and then in 1976 they moved to Belle Fourche where they have lived since. Donna worked as a nurse’s aid for many years in the nursery at Spearfish Hospital, as well as the Belle Fourche Senior Care Center. She also was a caregiver for many years out of her home. Donna enjoyed having fun in life and making memories. She loved horses and taking 4-wheeler rides, quilting, and Sunday dinners with the family. She was a wonderful cook and baker and she loved her grandchildren very much. She made many friends during her nursing career, and she will be greatly missed by her family. Donna is survived by her husband, Darrell of Belle Fourche; daughters, Laurie (Duane) Olson of Belle Fourche, Peggy Vanhuss of Bowmanville, Ontario; sons, Darrell Ward of Belle Fourche, Marvin (Terri) Ward of Spearfish, Melvin (Joy) Ward of Belle Fourche; 8 grandchildren, Darrell, Danyelle, Kari, Chelsea, Devin, Cody, Alyssa, Ryan; 6 great grandchildren, Alyson, Lillian, Cobe, Kami, Jordan, and Kaedan; sister, Arlys Bader of Huron; and brother, Ervin Bednar of Huron. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Dwaine Bednar; and sister, Muriel Goetsch.
