Helen G. Amunson, age 85 of Belle Fourche, died Monday, March 14, 2016 at her home. A memorial service will be held 10 am Thursday, March 17th, 2016 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Spearfish. There will be no visitation. Interment will be held in Black Hills National Cemetery, in Sturgis. Memorials are preferred to the Belle Fourche V.F.W. Helen Gene Timm was born December 30, 1930 in Rhame, North Dakota. She was the daughter of Fred and Tilda (Pladsen) Timm. Helen grew up in Bowman County, North Dakota and Newell South Dakota as well. She graduated from the Rhame High School in 1949. She was united in marriage to Floyd Amunson on October 3, 1952 in Belle Fourche. Following their marriage they lived in Deadwood, Newcastle WY, Nisland, and in 1960 they settled in Belle Fourche. Helen worked in healthcare for many years. She served at activities director at the Belle Fourche Long Term Care Center. She also was the bookkeeper for the Spearfish Commodities. She volunteered at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center, was president of the Belle Fourche VFW Auxiliary, and was active with the Spearfish Hospital Auxiliary. Helen loved people and she loved company. Visitors at her home were always encouraged to stay a little longer because she loved to visit so much. She loved her family and grandchildren very much, and she will be missed greatly. Helen is survived by her daughters, Debra Koepp of Belle Fourche, Cindy (Ron) Ketron of Sheridan WY; 5 grandchildren, Krista, Benjamin (Kiersten), Lacey (Shane), Erik, Amanda (fiancé’ Josh); 3 brothers, Dick Timm of Washington, Robert Timm of Alabama, Jack Timm of Hot Springs; sister, Georgia Benton of Sheridan WY; and very close friend, Georgia McFarland of Rapid City. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Dale; brother, Bud; and sisters, Eris, Mildred, Ida Mae, and Madge. IN LOVING MEMORY Helen G.
