* Video tribute can be viewed below  * Ardis L. Riley, age 81 of Spearfish, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 14, 2016 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital in Spearfish. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 am Saturday, February 20th, 2016 at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Visitation will be held 1pm to 7pm Friday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. The family will be present from 4pm to 6pm. Interment will take place in the Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fourche. A memorial will be established. Ardis Fishel was born on October 4, 1934 to Floyd and Ruth (Cole) Fishel in Belle Fourche. She was raised on the family ranch on Sour Dough Flats before moving to the family ranch on Hay Creek at the age of 10. She married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Riley, on November 8, 1952 in Belle Fourche. Glenn and Ardis have 5 kids: Bruce, Roger, Kate, Brent and Lorri. In 1964 they purchased the family ranch on Hay Creek. Once all the kids were in school, Ardis began her 25 years of work as the bookkeeper at American Colloid. After “retiring” from Colloid, she continued to do books for the Spearfish Surgery Center, Lawrence County Extension Office, Black Hills Bookkeeping and officially retired at the age of 80 from Lamb Painting. In 1985, Glenn and Ardis sold the Hay Creek Ranch and moved over to the Redwater Ranch. Ardis was a master gardener and many enjoyed her canned jellies and raspberries and beautiful flowers. She was an avid supporter of her children’s hundreds of sporting events, never missing a game. She also loved cooking for others and was known for her famous cinnamon rolls. She enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her family and friends. She was very active in the First Baptist Church including being the bookkeeper for over 20 years until her stroke on December 29, 2015. Ardis was active in the Crow Peak Extension Club and Beulah Birthday Club. She was also a member of the Northern Hills Master Gardeners. Ardis is survived by her husband Glenn of Spearfish, sons Bruce of Orlando, Fl, Roger (Minna) and Brent (Cindy) of Spearfish along with her daughters Kate of San Luis Obispo, CA and Lorri of Spearfish, SD; 5 grandchildren- Bryan, Carmen, Adele, Cole and Hannah along with 5 great grandchildren- Gavin, Riley, Neriah, Abigail, Elizabeth; brother Chuck Fishel of Fredricksburg, Texas; sister Jean Helmer of Belle Fourche; and numerous nieces and nephews.
