** VIDEO TRIBUTE CAN BE VIEWED BELOW  ** John R. Garman, age 79 of Alzada MT, died Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at the Belle Estate Senior Living Center in Belle Fourche. The funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, February 6th, 2016 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Visitation will take place 5 to 7 pm Friday, and one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will take place in the Moorcroft Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. John Robert Garman was born March 22, 1936 in Phoenix, Arizona. He was the son of Newell and Francis (Blakeman) Garman. In 1939 he moved with his family to Carlile, Wyoming. He was united in marriage to Eileen Hartman on June 2nd, 1961. For several years, John taught school in Moorcroft Wyoming and also at the Gap School located near Gillette Wyoming, and then in 1970 he began teaching at Campbell County High School in Gillette. He retired from teaching in 1973 when he began ranching full time. In 1975 he purchased his first semi truck and several different types of trailers and for the next 28 years he was very happy being a self employed commercial trucker and rancher. In 1976 John and Eileen purchased a ranch located nine miles north of Alzada, Montana. In December of 2004, John sold his trucks and trailers due to health issues. Since then he has enjoyed ranching in near Alzada. John was the type of man who was always happy to see you. He had a smile and a handshake for everyone. He was a story teller and a good Republican. He also could play guitar. He will be missed greatly. John is survived by his wife, Eileen of Alzada MT; sons, John (Taina) of Buffalo WY, Shane (Jill) of Bainville MT, David (Wendy) of Belle Fourche, Ben (Lori) of Colony WY, Jason (Ryan) of Gillette WY; sister, Martha (Carl) Reimer of Gillette WY; 16 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harry, and Neal; sister, Alice Mills; and nephew, Jerry Reimer.
