Moore, age 80 of Belle Fourche, died Sunday January 10, 2016 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital The funeral service will be held 11am Friday, January 15th, 2016 at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be held 4 to 7pm Thursday at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills, with a public prayer service at 6pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. Inurnment will take place 10 am Saturday in Pine Slope Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the First Congregational United Church of Christ and the Belle Fourche Area Community Center. Robert Lemuel Moore was born September 5, 1935, in Dallas, Texas to L. P. Moore and Lillie (Moore) Moore. He graduated from high school in 1954 at Prairie Grove, Arkansas. After graduation he moved to Willard, Montana and farmed until 1962 when he moved to Belle Fourche, South Dakota, where he has since resided. He worked at the U & I Sugar Factory, McCullough Gas Plant and he retired from American Colloid after 21 years. He married Marcella Donald January 12, 1958. Marcella passed away in December 1988. He married Peggy (Hodge) Larrabee May 27, 1989. Robert was an EMT for 14 years with the Belle Fourche Ambulance Service and served as a reserve police officer for ten years. He was a block captain with the Neighborhood Watch Program and always available when asked to help on many community volunteer programs. After retiring Robert worked in the Belle Fourche School District as a building manager and at the Belle Fourche Area Community Center at the time of his death. Robert is survived by his loving wife, Peggy Moore of Belle Fourche; son, Ken Moore of Billings MT; daughter, Cindy Moore of Belle Fourche; step-children, Deb (Jim) Scheele of Belle Fourche, Don (Maureen) Larrabee of Thompson ND, Diane (Steve) Kappes of Elkridge, Maryland, Denise (Chris) Lemke of Brainerd NE; brothers, Glenn (Mary Ann) Moore of Columbus MT, Larry (Myrna) Moore of Perry OK; sisters, Marilyn (Ron) Weathers of Perry OK, Pauline Steward of Marshall MI; and 20 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Marcella; and son, Charles Moore.
