Visitation, with the family present, will be held 5 to 7 pm Wednesday. Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery, Belle Fourche. Larry James Kracht was born September 23, 1957 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He was the son of Lawrence and Belva (Buryanek) Kracht. At a young age, Larry moved with his family to Deadwood where he grew up and attended school. He graduated from the Lead Deadwood High School in 1975. For a short time he lived in Oklahoma, and also worked for the Homestake Mine. In 1979 he moved to Belle Fourche where he was married to Pam Johnston. They were married for 13 years before being divorced. For 36 years, Larry worked at American Colloid where he was a lab technician. Many memories were made there, including the time spent working with his two sons. This past March he retired due to his health. Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and anything outdoors. He loved his family very much, especially his sons. Larry raised his two sons and they were his pride and joy. His last name is German and it means, “strength”. Larry showed that he had a very strong and silent strength, especially these past few months. He was a great man and will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
