Elva Bell, age 99 of Belle Fourche, died Friday, December 4th, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. A memorial service will be held 10 am Saturday December 19th, 2015 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Hospice Chaplain, Randy Bradley will officiate. Inurnment will take place in the Hillview Cemetery, in Isabel the following summer of 2016. Elva Rosander was born July 22, 1916 near Isabel South Dakota. She was the daughter of Oscar and Florence (Lyke) Rosander. Elva grew up on her parent’s ranch. On October 12, 1938 she was united in marriage to Arnold Bell in Timber Lake. Following their marriage they lived on a sheep ranch near Isabel and later in 1944 they moved to Maurine. In 1963 the couple moved to Belle Fourche where Arnold worked at the Hafner Wool Warehouse, and Elva worked for the Lee Store. In 1970 she began working at Ben Franklin, and she continued working there for 14 years. She retired in 1984. In the same year, Arnold passed away. Elva is survived by her son, Howard of Belle Fourche; 3 grandsons, Arnold, George, Roy; 1 granddaughter, Marilyn; 4 great grandchildren, Megan, Candi, Jessica, Karl; 2 great great grandchildren, Landon and Faith; sister, Florence Reyman of Belle Fourche; and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant brother; brothers, Eldon and J.E. Rosander.
