Theda L. Bevier age 71 of Colony WY died Wednesday March 18, 2009 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City. Private family services will be held at Black Hills National Cemetery, Sturgis. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the SD Child Identification Program. Arrangements have been entrusted to Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Theda was born on May 11, 1937 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Don and Gladys (Mobray) Roberts. Theda later attended school in Keyes, Oklahoma where she graduated from high school. On February 2, 1957 Theda was united in marriage to Stanley Bevier in Tucumcari New Mexico. Theda and Stan spent their first twenty-two months of marriage in Germany where their first son, Stan Jr., was born. Stan and Theda returned to the United States and resided in Rapid City South Dakota for thirteen years. Theda and Stan had two more children born: a son, Rick, and a daughter, Melinda. Theda and Stan then moved to Colony Wyoming in 1974 where they have lived since. Theda enjoyed gardening and working in her flower beds. She also had a great compassion for animals. Theda and Stan both worked together at their kennel, “Bevier’s Kennels,” where Theda took great pride in caring for the dogs. Theda is survived by her husband, Stan of Colony, WY; sons, Stan Jr. (Kathy) of Cornning, CA, Rick (Buzz) of Belle Fourche; daughter, Melinda Reid of Colony, WY; brother, Norman (Mary) Roberts of Washington; sisters, Glenda Hicks of Keyes, OK, Donneta (Bill) of Albuquerque, NM, Sonjia of California; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; 1 granddaughter, Tabitha Bevier; and an infant brother.
