Rita K. Preszler, age 70 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday October 15, 2015 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Funeral arrangements are pending with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. A celebration of her life will take place in the spring of 2016. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Northern Hills and the wildlife refuge center in Spearfish. Rita Kaye Wethor was born November 28, 1944 in Belle Fourche. She was the daughter of Gene and June (Hodge) Wethor. Rita grew up in Belle Fourche where she attended school. In 1964 she was united in marriage to Jay Preszler in Rapid City. To this union was born two sons: James and Doug. Following their marriage Jay and Rita lived Rapid City and later they moved to Waterloo Iowa where Jay worked as an engineer for the John Deere Corporation. In 1977 they moved to Moline Illinois and in 1982 they moved to Mannheim Germany where the lived for 2 ½ years. Following Jay’s retirement in 2002, the couple enjoyed living in their R.V. They would winter in New Mexico and during the rest of the year they traveled and spent time at their ranch near Meadow SD. For the past 3 years they have lived in Belle Fourche. Rita had a talent with art. She was very creative and she loved working with crafts. She was an active volunteer for Hospice of the Northern Hills and she loved her family and friends very much. She will be missed greatly. Rita is survived by her husband, Jay of Belle Fourche; sons, Doug of Belle Fourche, James of Davenport, Iowa; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Doug Wethor.
