** Video Tribute can be viewed by clicking weblink above (computers only) ** Joseph Heidrich Jr., age 66 of Nisland, died Thursday March 19, 2015 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 am Wednesday March 25, 2015 at St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Newell. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 pm Tuesday, with a 6pm Vigil Service, at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Interment will be held in Hope Cemetery, in Newell. Joseph James Heidrich Junior was born September 24, 1948 in Linton, North Dakota. He was the son of Joseph and Magdalena (Schumacher) Heidrich. In 1950 he moved with his family to Nisland where he attended school and later worked on the Lawrence Bentz farm. Joseph worked for Hills Materials for 47 years, at a job he truly loved. Unfortunately he had to retire in 2014 due to poor health. Joseph was active with the Nisland Lions Club and Fire Department. He took great pride in his grandchildren, and loved them very much. Joseph loved his whole family and he will be missed greatly. Joseph is survived by his sons, Jason (Ann) Bunney of Rapid City, Chad (Amanda) of Belle Fourche, Dwayne (Paul) of Nisland; 6 grandchildren, Sethe, Preston, Briana, Samantha, Cassandra, Tucker; great grandson, Hunter; sisters, Bev (Chuck) Watson of Belle Fourche, Linda Crandall of Belle Fourche, Helen Gross of Rapid City; brother, Harry (Elaine) Heidrich of Belle Fourche; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Sherry Heidrich; brother, Alvin Heidrich; and sister, Theresa Heidrich.
