A memorial service will be held 10 am Friday January 30th, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche with Pastor Jean Helmer officiating. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery in Belle Fourche. Memorials are preferred to the Belle Fourche Fire Department and Hospice of the Northern Hills. Funeral arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Lana Yoette Stevens was born January 2, 1946 in Huron South Dakota to Kenneth and Ramona (Reintsma) Stevens. Lana graduated from Huron High School in 1964 and continued her education at Huron College. She met and married her first husband. They had two sons – Steven James and Gerald James “Skip” Geyerman. She then taught at the Miner Country School near Huron for two years, teaching 1st – 8th grades. She moved to Rapid City and then to Belle Fourche. She earned her teaching degree from Black Hills College. On May 15, 1981 she was united in marriage to Edward George Reinhardt at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche. They had a daughter, Laurie. Lana taught for more than 20 years in the Belle Fourche school district. She retired in 2005 but continued substitute teaching. Shortly after retirement, Ed and Lana moved to Glendale Arizona where they lived for two years. In 2009 they moved to Texas. They returned to Belle Fourche in 2011. Lana was a gifted painter, especially oil and tole painting. She gave many of her works to her family and friends. She enjoyed reading, writing poems and stories, and taking pictures. Her family will remember her as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, and aunt and she will be missed greatly by her numerous friends. Lana is survived by her husband Ed and daughter, Laurie Gene of Belle Fourche; son, Steven (Dolli) Geyerman and grandchildren, Joe, Ella, and Maya, all of Nacogdoches, TX. She is also survived by two sisters, Vicki (Howard) Ross of Belle Fourche, Penny (Fred) Jones of Spearfish; and 3 brothers, Kendell (Janie) Stevens of Belle Fourche, Stephen (Mary Jane) Stevens, and Nathan (Sandy) Stevens of Huron, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her son, Gerald James “Skip” Geyerman.
