Ruth M. Vostad

Ruth M. Vostad, age 77 of Belle Fourche, died Wednesday January 7, 2015 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center. A memorial service will be held 10 am Friday January 9, 2015 at Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fourche. Ruth Marie Kiplinger was born September 1 1937 in Belle Fourche. She was the daughter of Ward D. and Irene (Rolph) Kiplinger. Ruth grew up in Belle Fourche and also Harding County. She graduated from Belle Fourche High School in 1956. After graduating from high school, Ruth was married to Donald L. Pinkerton in Belle Fourche. They later divorced and in 1963 she was married to Wayne Vostad. Following their marriage they moved to West Covina California. After being divorced, Ruth moved back to Belle Fourche where she has lived since. In her younger years, Ruth worked as a waitress for the Chef Café’ in Belle Fourche, and also the Montgomery Ward’s store. For 16 years she worked as a cook at the Dorsett Senior Care Center in Spearfish. She was forced to retire from there due to health concerns. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ruth is survived by her sons, Doug (Paula) Vostad of Spearfish, Don (Donna) Pinkerton of Rapid City; 4 grandchildren, Bobbi, Kristan, Kaylee, Curtis; and 4 great grandchildren, Keith, Zac, LaRae, and Carter - and number 5 is on the way (any day), Kyah Marie. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ward D. and Irene Kiplinger; and her great granddaughter, Krysteena Marie Deschamps.
