Sylvia L. Fisher age 65 of Belle Fourche and formerly Timber Lake, died Thursday December 11, 2014 at her home in Belle Fourche. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11 am Tuesday December 16, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mobridge. There will be a Christian Wake Service 7pm Monday evening at the church. There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements are with Leverington Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, and Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. Sylvia Lucy O’Donnell was born February 10, 1949 in Mobridge. She was the daughter of James and Marcella (Damberger) O’Donnell. Sylvia grew up in Mobridge where she graduated from high school in 1967. On December 2 1968 she was united in marriage to James Fisher in Tigard, Oregon. To this union 2 children were born: Michael and Valerie. Following their marriage Jim and Sylvia moved to Shelton WA and in 1982 they moved to Timber Lake where they owned and operated Fisher Hardware for many years. In 1991, Sylvia began working for the Dewey County Sherriff’s Department. She worked there for 20 years as a Jailer, Cook, and Dispatcher. She retired in 2011 and moved to Belle Fourche where she and Jim have lived since. Sylvia was a compassionate and loving person who would do anything for anybody. She loved dogs and animals, and she enjoyed competing in poker tournaments. She will be missed greatly by her friends and family. Sylvia is survived by her husband, James of Belle Fourche; son, Michael (Lisa) of Pleasanton NE; daughter, Valerie (Rod) Vinyard of Grants Pass OR; 5 grandchildren, Meghan, Chelsea, Jessica, Logan, and Lainey; and great granddaughter, Elyse. She is also survived by her mother, Marcella O’Donnell of Mobridge; brothers, Gerald O’Donnell of Mobridge, Charles O’Donnell of Utah; sisters, Patricia Tisdall of Selby, Sheila Stoick of Denver CO, Dorothy McMahen of Yankton, Monica Mushitz of Denver CO; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father James O’Donnell; and brother-in-law, Charles Tisdall.
