He was the son of Ralph and Velma (Shoenhardt) Stinson. At a young age Ron moved with his family to the Presho and Vivian area where he grew up and attended school. In August of 1952, Ron was united in marriage to Ula Lindquist in Rapid City. To this union two children were born: Marty and Bonnie. Following their marriage, Ron and Ula lived in Belle Fourche for two years, and then moved to Rapid City where Ron worked for the Chicago Northwestern Railroad Company. In 1963 he was transferred to Belle Fourche. Ron worked for the company as a Mechanic in Charge, for 43 years. Throughout that time, Ron had a very strong work ethic and never took a sick day. In 2002 Ron and Ula moved to Spearfish where they resided at Edgewood Vista. On April 30, 2007, Ula passed away. For the past two years, Ron has resided at the Pioneer Manor in Gillette Wyoming. Ron was an active member at St. James Lutheran Church and he was also an active member of the Belle Fourche community, having served on the City Council and taken part in many of the community events in the area. For Ron, his faith was always the number one priority in his life and attending church on Sunday morning was always a “must”. He loved life and he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and golfing. He loved sports and he enjoyed supporting all the local teams. He had a servant heart and he loved his family very much. He will be greatly missed.
