** TO VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE, CLICK WEBLINK ABOVE ** Thomas Jerry Wendt, age 73 of Belle Fourche, died Tuesday September 16th, 2014 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center. The funeral service will be held 10:30am Saturday SEPTEMBER 27th , 2014 at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche, with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Friday SEPTEMBER 26th at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery, in Belle Fourche. Memorials are preferred to First Baptist Church or the Belle Fourche Fire Department. Thomas Jerry Wendt was born to William John Wendt and Ella (Helmer) Wendt on January 29, 1941 in rural Butte County. He was the youngest of 14 children. Jerry attended school in Spearfish, Newell, and Belle Fourche. He was a long time member of the SD National Guard and served five years on the Belle Fourche Fire Department. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belle Fourche and a past member of the Belle Fourche Jaycees. Jerry worked as an electrician for a number of years at Cliff’s Electric in Belle Fourche. In the early 1970’s he managed an office for Hamilton Management in Albuquerque NM, and later transferred to a sales office in Tulsa OK. In 1978 he returned to Belle Fourche and was forced to retire early due to his ill health. On July 20th, 1960 Jerry was united in marriage to Linda Lovell in Sidney Montana. Together they enjoyed 54 years of marriage. Jerry loved doing anything involving building and construction. He will be greatly missed by his wife and children, grandchildren and friends. Jerry is survived by his wife Linda of Belle Fourche; son, Tim Wendt of Springfield SD; daughter, Lynnea (Peter) Luebben of Germany; 7 grandchildren, Melissa Vanderloo, T.J. Wendt, Tristan Wendt, Lisanne King, Clarissa King, Samuel King, and Majda Rose BenJdid. He is also survived by his sister, Gladys Babcock of Post Falls ID; brothers, Kenneth (Mary) Wendt of Belle Fourche, Carl (Pauline) Wendt of Spearfish, and Jack (Carol) Wendt of Rapid City. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kimberley (Wendt) Stevens; sisters, Anna Bonato, Marjorie Jepson, Jessie Franke, Ellen Rueb, Evelyn Rosie Frick; brothers, Fred, William, Chris, and Donald Wendt.
