Gary C. Herber, age 71 of Belle Fourche, died Saturday July 26, 2014 at the Belle Fourche Regional Health Care Center. A memorial service will be held 1pm Friday, August 1st, 2014 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. There will be no visitation. Inurnment will take place in Rose Hill Cemetery, in Spearfish. Gary Carl Herber was born August 11, 1942 in Spearfish, South Dakota. He was the son of Edwin and Hilda (Dahl) Herber. Gary graduated from the Belle Fourche High School in 1960. On September 23rd, 1963 he was united in marriage to Mary Anderson in Belle Fourche. To this union two daughters were born: Cindy and Kim. For many years, Gary worked at American Colloid as a heavy equipment operator. He also was a truck driver for many years. Gary also worked at Riley’s Sand and Redimix and he did road maintainence for Butte County. For the past 13 years, Gary has been a resident at the Belle Fourche Regional Health Care Center. In his younger years, Gary was an avid hunter. He loved his time hunting with family and friends. He also was an avid bowler, and softball player. He also enjoyed many demolition derbies. Gary is survived by his two daughters, Cindy Herber of Spearfish; Kim (Darrel) Brimm of Rapid City; 5 grandchildren, Myles (Kirsten) Bierema, Brooks Bierema, Baylee (Jared) Wolff, Kaycee Brimm, Dustin Brimm; 3 great grandchildren, Ridge Bierema, Brodie and Brynlee Wolff; and his brother, Larry (Myrna) Herber of Burnsville MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin and Hilda Herber.
