Charles Ferguson

August 19, 1946 — March 29, 2014

Charles H. Ferguson, age 67 of Belle Fourche, died Saturday March 29th, 2014 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 am Wednesday, April 2nd 2014 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Belle Fourche.  There will be no visitation.  Inurnment will take place later in the year, in California. Funeral arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.   Charles Henry Ferguson was born August 19, 1946 in Bronx, New York.  He was the son of John and Barbara (Renner) Ferguson.  Charles grew up in Bronx, and later moved to New Jersey with his family, at the age of 13.  He graduated from high school in Brick, New Jersey.  On September 13, 1969, Charles was united in marriage to Joyce Hannah, in Spring Lake New Jersey.  For many years, Charles served America in the U.S. Navy.  He began his service in 1965 and he retired from the Navy in 1992 as Master Chief.  Following retirement, Charles and Joyce settled in Sheridan Wyoming.  Later they moved to California, and for the past few years they have enjoyed life in Belle Fourche, South Dakota.  Charles enjoyed hunting and shooting.  He loved his family very much, and was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather.  He will be greatly missed.   Charles is survived by his wife, Joyce of Belle Fourche; Sons, Ralph Charles (Thao) of Corona CA, Peter Mark (Tami) of Belle Fourche; daughter, Rebekah Lynne Ferguson of Belle Fourche; 5 grandchildren, Charles, Nathalie, Thomas, Isabella, Alexander; and 2 brothers, John (Therese) Ferguson of New Port Richey FL, and James (Sue) Ferguson of Plymouth Meeting PA. He was preceded in death by his parents.
