Savannah L. Miller-Toavs, age 23 of Redig, SD died Wednesday, August 28th, 2013 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital. The funeral service will be held 1pm Thursday, September 5th, 2013 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche with Pastor Jean Helmer officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place in the Wakeman Cemetery, in Redig, SD. Following, there will be coffee and a time of fellowship at the United Church of Christ in Buffalo. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Savannah Louise Miller was born October 9, 1989 in Apache Junction, Arizona. She was the daughter of John and Wanita (Rice) Miller. Savannah grew up in Apache Junction, where she also attended school. In May of 2008, Savannah met the man she would later marry. On September 27th, 2008, Savannah was married to Bert Toavs on the Geyser Ranch, near Ely, Nevada. Together they developed a marriage that was based on love and commitment to each other and was designed to last forever. For the past five weeks, Savannah and Bert have lived near Redig, South Dakota working on the Fowler Ranch, which she loved. Savannah was a devoted mother and wife. She loved horses, and she had an “eye” for them. Her lifetime dream was to one day own and operate a horse ranch, where she could breed and train horses to sell. Savannah loved her children very much. There wasn’t anything she wouldn’t do for them. She will be missed greatly. Savannah is survived by her husband, Bert Toavs and their children, Allyson and Dillon of Redig; parents, John and Wanita Miller of Arizona; sisters, Stephanie Rodriguez of Nevada, Shandra Miller of Mesa AZ, Shyloh Miller of Tempe AZ; Aunts, Georgia Brousseau of Tucson AZ, Sandy Droste of Tucson AZ, Marilyn Bowser of Mesquite TX.
