** TO VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE, CLICK WEBLINK ABOVE ** Emma Ragland, age 89 of Belle Fourche, died Friday March 8, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her loving family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Wednesday, March 13th, 2013 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Belle Fourche. Visitation will be held 2 to 6pm Tuesday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Following, there will be a Vigil Wake Service at the church at 7pm. Inurnment will take place 10am Thursday at Pine Slope Cemetery. Emma Ragland was born June 22, 1923 in Waldo, New Mexico. She was the daughter of Florentino and Erlinda (Lucero) Rodriguez. Emma grew up in New Mexico and Oklahoma. At a young age she was needed to quit school and start working to support the family. She moved to Belle Fourche with her family where she played an important supporting role. Emma was married to Raymond Ragland in Brownwood, Texas on September 3, 1946. She worked at several places in Belle Fourche, including the Reid Motel, and Bob’s Café where she met her husband. Emma enjoyed people, going to coffee with her friends, and taking walks. She worked hard to take care of her family, and she loved all of them very much. She will be greatly missed. Emma is survived by her daughters, Lisa Wallery of Belle Fourche, LaMar (Tom) Ammons of Linden NC; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brothers, Richard Rodriguez of Whitewood, Jesse Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO; sisters, Georgia Humann of Belle Fourche, Lucy Oster of Belle Fourche, Josie Hermanson of Rapid City, Jenny Swan of Idaho; and numerous nieces and nephews. Emma was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond; and son, Raymond.
