Doris M. Bradford

Doris M. Bradford, age 93 of Belle Fourche, died Thursday February 7, 2013 at the Spearfish Regional Medical Center. The funeral service will be held 1pm Monday February 11th, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Belle Fourche, with Pastor Tim Smith officiating. Inurnment will take place in the spring at Lakewood Cemetery, in Waubay, SD. Funeral arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Doris Marie Kubitscheck was born November 25, 1919 in Brookville, Kansas. She was the daughter of Frank and Mary (Jilka) Kubitscheck. Doris grew up in Brookville where she graduated from high school as Valedictorian of her class. Doris was married to Wilmer Bradford in Brookville, and following their marriage they moved to Waubay South Dakota where they farmed for several years. Wilmer died at a young age in 1959. Doris was an intelligent lady, and was well educated. She received her Master’s Degree in Education from Northern State University in Aberdeen, and she enjoyed a 39 year teaching career in Waubay. She retired in 1982 and in 2003 she moved to Belle Fourche to be with her daughter. Doris is survived by her daughter, Lisa Bradford of Belle Fourche; 2 grandchildren, Miracle Dosch of Belle Fourche, Josh (Sarah) Dosch of Belle Fourche; and 4 great grandchildren, Taylor, Jaredon, Tristan, and Caleb. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilmer in 1959; and sister, Virginia Vezzoni.
