Raymond Carl Feist was born April 12, 1941 in McIntosh, South Dakota. He was the son of Balzer and Margaret (Schriner) Feist. Raymond grew up on a family farm near Selfridge, North Dakota. He graduated from Selfridge High School. December 2, 1963 he was united in marriage to Diane Sabin at the Bethesda Lutheran Church near Morristown, SD. He retired in November of 2006 after 43 years of faithful employment. Ray continued working part time as needed during the summer months. For the past nine years, Ray and Diane have enjoyed spending their winters in Gold Canyon, Arizona. A new circle of friends was quickly made, and each year’s reunion over the winter months was looked forward to. Ray enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He enjoyed helping his brother-in-law’s shop for vehicles and other needed items for their ranch. Frequently he would make a call when he found something that he thought would interest them. One of his hobbies was toy tractor collecting, and it was through this hobby that he “collected” his son-in-law’s. Ray had a great sense of humor, and he enjoyed joking and teasing his friends and family. He visited and entertained friends made at the park in Arizona, and he enjoyed this to the very last minute of his life. He was a devoted husband of 49 years and he will be missed so much by his wife and family.
