** Video Tribute can be view by clicking on weblink above ** Bill Pannell, age 91 of Alva Wyoming, died Friday May 4, 2012 at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center in Sturgis. A memorial service will be held 1pm Tuesday May 8th, 2012 at the Greater Hulett Community Center in Hulett, WY. There will be no visitation. Interment took place Saturday May 5th at the Alva Cemetery, in Alva, WY. Memorials are preferred to the Hulett Volunteer Fire Department. Funeral arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. William James Pannell was born January 21, 1921 at the family ranch located near Alva, Wyoming. He was the son of Walter and Hazel (Lull) Pannell. Bill grew up on the family ranch, attending schools in the area, and became a high school graduate from Sundance High School. During World War II, Bill served his country in the U.S. Marines from 1942 to 1945. During this time he was stationed in Honolulu, Hawaii. Upon his honorable discharge, he returned home. On September 28, 1946, Bill was united in marriage to Eunella Easterly, in Kentucky. Following their marriage they returned to the Pannell family ranch near Alva where they established their home for the next sixty years and more. Bill is survived by his children, Fred (Karen) Pannell of Cheyenne WY, Mary (Everett) Heinert of Alva WY, Sally (Alan) Kraemer of Apple Valley CA, Peggy (Jeff) Meineke of Rapid City, Jim (Kelly) Pannell of Hulett WY, Bill Pannell of Cheyenne WY; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; and his sister, Peggy Davis of Belle Fourche. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Eunella in 2009; and two sisters, Louise Blankenship and Sue Svoboda.
