Ruth Meyers

** View Video Tribute by clicking on weblink above **Ruth Meyers, age 86 of Belle Fourche, died Sunday April 22, 2012 at the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center. Visitation will be 5 to 7 pm Thursday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.  The funeral will be held 10:30 am Friday April 27, 2012 at St. James Lutheran Church in Belle Fourche, with Rev. Jeff Otterman officiating.  Interment will take place in Pine Slope Cemetery. Ruth Quenzer was born March 13, 1926 in Selfridge, North Dakota.  She was the daughter of Phillip and Caroline (Goetz) Quenzer.  At a young age, Ruth moved with her family to Belle Fourche, where she attended school.  In 1943, Ruth was united in marriage to William Meyer in Sundance Wyoming.  To this union five children were born: Junior, Sharon, Richard, James, and Calvin.  Following their marriage, Ruth and William farmed for many years near Fruitdale, raising primarily sugar beets.  In 1972, Ruth moved into Belle Fourche where she attended the First Baptist Church and later St. James Lutheran Church.  William died in 1988.  Since May of 2011, Ruth has been a resident of the Belle Fourche Regional Senior Care Center. Ruth will be remembered for her hard working life, filled with taking care of kids and making sure everyone was well fed and cared for.  Her life was dedicated to her family, especially her sons Richard and James who lived with her so she could watch over them.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Ruth is survived by her sons, James of Belle Fourche, Calvin (Michelle) of Belle Fourche; 6 grandchildren, Cassidy, Cadee, Ceylee, and Kalini Meyers, Curt and Danae Marchiando; niece and special friend, Delores Garcia of Belle Fourche.
