** TO VIEW VIDEO TRIBUTE, CLICK WEBLINK ABOVE ** Ricky L. Pickering, age 50 of Edgerton, WY, died Friday December 16, 2011 in Belle Fourche, SD. A memorial service will be held 1pm Thursday December 22nd, 2011 at the United Methodist Community Church in Midwest, Wyoming. Inurment will be held in the Whitewood Cemetery, in Whitewood, South Dakota. Ricky Lee Pickering was born June 3, 1961 in Casper, Wyoming. He was the son of Ronald and Donna (Ludgate) Pickering. Ricky attended school in Midwest Wyoming and in 1979 he graduated from the Kelly Walsh High School in Casper. For several years following, Ricky lived in Denver Colorado where he drove truck for Frito-Lay. In 1993 he moved to Casper where he worked various types of jobs. Later he moved to Edgerton Wyoming. Ricky will be remembered for his free spirit and independent lifestyle. He loved spending time at the family ranch near Whitewood and enjoyed the outdoors. He often would take hikes, hunting for interesting rocks and artifacts. He loved his two dogs, Ben and Star, and he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He made special memories with his three nieces that they will never forget. Ricky will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Ricky is survived by his mother and step father, Donna Pickering – Hudson (and Jim Hudson) of Crookston MN; sisters, Lori (Wayne) Folkers of Crookston MN, Kerri (Roy) Kowalski of Midwest WY; nieces, Shelby, Taylor, and Bailey of Crookston MN; aunts and uncles, Sharlyn and Larry Saul of Cheyenne WY, Rosemary and Al Witzel of Pavilion WY, David and Debbie Ludgate of St. George UT, Wallace and Judy Ludgate of Cedar City UT, and Robert and Kleo Ludgate of Casper WY. Ricky was preceded in death by his father, Ronald Arden Pickering; and grandparents, Clifton and Shirley Pickering, and Margaret and James Ludgate. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the United Methodist Community Church in Midwest, WY.
