** Click above link to view video tribute ** Dennis Coyle, age 78 of Belle Fourche, died Saturday October 1, 2011 at his home, surrounded by his loving family following a long and courageous fight against cancer. A vigil service will be held 7pm Wednesday at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30am Thursday October 6th, 2011 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Belle Fourche, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will take place at the Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Military Honors will be provided by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Dennis Coyle was born July 20, 1933 in Faulkton, SD. He was the son of Cletus and Vera Coyle. Dennis grew up on a family farm near Orient SD and he graduated from the Orient High School. During the Korean War, Dennis served his country in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1961. During part of this time, he was stationed in Okinawa. Following his service, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Brophy, on June 28, 1958, in Rapid City. To this union, two sons and two daughters were born: Francis, Mike, Wanda, and Arba. Following their marriage, Dennis ranched with his father-in-law, near Hermosa SD. He also worked as a carpenter, working on many construction projects in the Black Hills, Montana, Nebraska, and Iowa. In 1972 the family moved to Belle Fourche where Dennis began work at the Doug Johnson Ranch, where he worked for 23 years. Dorothy died in 1991. On May 28, 1994, Dennis was united in marriage to Sharon Rear, in Belle Fourche. They were blessed with 17 years of marriage. In his younger years, Dennis enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a diehard Denver Broncos fan. He loved his family very much, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dennis will be greatly missed. Dennis is survived by his wife, Sharon of Belle Fourche; sons, Francis (Jane) Coyle of Cleveland OH, Mike (Cindy) Coyle of Rapid City; daughters, Wanda (Jim) Nelson of Belle Fourche, Arba Ross of Rapid City; step-sons, Eugene Rear of Belle Fourche, Kevin Rear of Belle Fourche, Jeff (Paula) Rear of Spearfish, Kelly (Amber) Rear of Sioux Falls; sisters, Margaret Joyce of Milwaukee WI, Jane (Edward) McGuire of Sioux Falls; brothers, Pat (Patricia) Coyle of Huron, Tom (Carol) Coyle of Dallas TX; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dorothy in 1991; 1 sister, Ann Nordell; 2 brothers, Jim, and Maurice Coyle; and 3 step-children, Tamara Murray, Lonnie Rear, Corky Rear.
