Miki Scheef, age 57 of Belle Fourche, died Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at her home in Belle Fourche, surrounded by her loving family, following a courageous fight against cancer. A memorial service will be held 10 am Saturday, September 24th, 2011 at the Christian Life Center in Belle Fourche, with Pastor Paul Howard officiating. There will be no visitation. Funeral arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Miki Moncur was born October 13, 1953 in Huron, South Dakota. She was the daughter of Homer and Bernadine (Koch) Moncur. At the age of 2, Miki moved with her family to Belle Fourche where she attended school, graduating with the Class of ’71. She received her degree in accounting from the National College of Business in Rapid City and afterwards moved to Broomfield Colorado where she worked for UPS for many years. She also worked a short time for TWX Trucking, and the TVG Television Network. In 2001 Miki moved back to Belle Fourche where she opened her restaurant, the Mish Mash. Miki will be remembered for her love of people. She had a love for her many customers who came from all over the world. It was important to her to support the many ministries that met at the Mish Mash, like Bible studies and church groups. She had a special mission in her life at work. She also supported ministries and activities going on at the Belle Pregnancy Center, Hospice of the Northern Hills, and the Christian Life Center. Miki had a real zest for life and she will be greatly missed. Miki is survived by her son Brad of Belle Fourche; granddaughter, Hannah Scheef of Grand Junction CO; sisters, Lois Moncur of Greely CO, Dianne (Jeral) Shear of Belle Fourche, Shirley (Jim) Anderson of Huron SD, Janet (Brian) Nelson of San Jose CA; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Debbie McCart, and Delores Garcia, both of Belle Fourche. Miki was preceded in death by her parents; and her grandson, Riley Scheef.
