Ted E. Brungardt, age 55 of Belle Fourche, died Monday August 15th, 2011 at the Fort Meade VA Medical Center in Sturgis. Services will be held 12 noon Friday August 19th, 2011 at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche, with a visitation held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Rick Brennan will officiate the service. Interment will take place 2pm Friday at Black Hills National Cemetery, with Military Honors provided by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard. Theodore Eugene Brungardt was born October 19, 1955 in Canyon City, Colorado. He was the son of Edwin and Naomi (Lovell) Brungardt. Ted grew up in western Nebraska and he attended school in Bayard, Nebraska. Ted served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1973 to 1976. During part of this time he was stationed in Guam. On July 24, 1996, Ted was united in marriage to Peggy Howlett in Belle Fourche. They later divorced in 2010. Ted worked at various places including the Fort Mead VA Medical Center, and at Masons Fifth Avenue in Belle Fourche. He could often be seen out front at Mason’s, sipping on a cup of coffee and enjoying the traffic and people as they went by. Ted enjoyed camping, cooking, fishing, and music. He was a quiet man, and a good man. Theodore is survived by his former wife, Peggy and their children, Timithy and Amiracle of Lead; mother, Naomi Brungardt of Glenrock WY; 2 brothers, Ed (Jane) of Thermopolis WY, Rodney (Debra) of Omaha NE; 2 sisters, Nancy (John) Pouk of Lajolla CA, Rae Ella (Vince) Nolde of Scottsbluff NE; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father; and sister, Suze Garner.
