** Please note the change in service times ** Sidney A. Marks age 65 of Hulett, WY, died Sunday June 19, 2011 at the Crook County Hospital in Sundance WY. Graveside services will be held 2:30pm Thursday at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis. Military Honors will be provided by the Belle Fourche Veterans Honor Guard. Arrangements are with Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche. Sidney Alvin Marks was born July 9, 1945 in Belle Fourche. He was the son of Sidney and Sylvia (Vitto) Marks. Sidney grew up in Belle Fourche where he attended school. During the Vietnam War, Sidney served his country in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1968. Following his service in the Army, he continued his career working in the Oil Fields located in the southern U.S. and also Gillette WY, and areas in Colorado. Sidney was a hard worker. He hauled water and tools, and worked as a driller on the oil rigs as well. He later moved to Belle Fourche. Sid loved auctions and he enjoyed buying anything of historical value. He owned and operated the only taxi cab business in Belle Fourche and he loved giving rides and the visiting with people that went on inside the cab. Sid loved to help people, and he would do anything for anyone. His dogs, Opy and Pretty Girl were very special to him. Sidney is survived by his special friend, Velda Brimmer of Hulett; sisters, Nichol Lena (Dan Scoggin) of Gillette WY, Kota (Randy) Myers of Belle Fourche; niece, Tella Moore of Gillette. He also is survived by Tohnie Jo Brimmer and Peter Worm, Johny Joe Brimmer and Bethany Holm who he loved and treated as his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; and infant son, Kevin.
