Bergetta A Lysne, 100, Hettinger, ND, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at the Spearfish Regional Hospital. Bergetta was born November 23, 1910 in Cole SD to John and Ingeborg (Myking) Ekemo.  She grew up and attended school in the Cole area, with five siblings.  Bergetta married Ole Lysne October 6, 1934 at Ellingson, SD.  After marrying, they worked in farming in the area before purchasing their own farm south of Hettinger.  They worked on the farm and raised their family until Ole passed away in 1968.  Shortly afterwards, she moved to Hettinger. Bergetta always enjoyed her experiences and the friends that she made while working at The Wagon Wheel, The City Café, and The Lakeveiw Café. She also loved to dance. After traveling the country seeing the sights and visiting family, Bergetta returned to Hettinger.  Even though she had spent the last six years with family in Belle Fourche, she always considered Hettinger home.  She was a longtime member of the Hettinger Lutheran Church, and the Hettinger Lutheran Church Women. Bergetta will be missed by her children Bernice Hess, Belle Fourche, SD and Jim (Paulette) Lysne, Cheyenne, WY, and daughter-in-law Debbie Lysne, Leadville, CO Grandma, Great Grandma, Grandma ‘B’, Grandma Detta…whatever they called her, she was loved by her six Grandchildren Lori McNeese (Sherman Crabill), Belle Fourche, SD, Perry (Andi) Hess, Trophy Club, TX, John Lysne (Mindy Thompson), Cheyenne, WY, Jim Lysne, Jr., Walker, LA, Gary Lysne, Leadville, CO and Greg Lysne, Leadville, CO, her nine Great-grandchildren Brandon McNeese (Doris Mitchell), Quillan McNeese, Kristina Hess (Billy Duran), Tara (Hess) Potter, Sami Hess, Lindi Hess, Michael Poteet-Lysne, Zach and Paige Clark-Lysne, and her 11 Great-Great-grandchildren Lance Mitchell, Brodie, Merik and Annika McNeese, Denton, Dustin, Devin, Javlynn, and Daxton Duran, and Anastasia and Payden Potter.  Bergetta also leaves numerous nieces and nephews including Janet Schauer who spent a lot of time visiting her in Belle Fourche in the last few years. Bergetta was preceded in death by her husband Ole, parents John and Ingeborg Ekemo, brother Joe Ekemo, sisters Jenny Falde, Alma Lysne, Sophie Archibald, Inga Archibald and their spouses, son Alan Lysne, grandson Barry Hess and son-in-law Pete Hess. Services will be held 10:30 am Saturday June 11th, 2011 at the Hettinger Lutheran Church with Rev. Kathleen Dettman officiating.  Visitation will be held 5 to 8pm Thursday at Funeral Home of the Northern Hills in Belle Fourche.  On Friday there will be a visitation at Evanson-Jensen Funeral Home in Hettinger from 1 to 8pm, with a family service at 7pm.  Burial will take place at the Hettinger Cemetery. A memorial has been established.
